Hello: We are Deacon Gil & Mary Nadeau serving in the Diocese of Syracuse, NY. I was ordained in 2006 and found that many of our friends and relatives had difficulty finding ordination gifts for the Deacon Candidates in our class. Having had some success with our first webstore venture, Mary and I decided to offer a few gift items online specifically for Permanent Deacons. Our idea was well received and thus began the DEACON STORE internet store for deacons, their wives, families and friends. Mary and I try very hard to offer the deacon community quality items for use in ministry. We are always looking for new items and ideas to improve this store. Shipping, Handling, and Return Policy

General Shipping and Handling Information

Certain products may include additional handling fees set by the manufacturer, remote supplier, or drop shipper. These fees reflect extra costs such as specialized packaging, insurance, or surcharges related to tariffs and order processing.

Drop Shipped Orders

Beau Veste Embroidery Clothing, Abbey ALB, and Harbro Vestment orders will be shipped directly to you via UPS Ground, FedEx, or US Postal Service. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional charge—please contact us for details and rates.

Stockroom Shipments

Items designated as “OUR STOCKROOM ONLY” are sent using US First Class for small items such as 1-2-3 lapel pins and embroidery patches. Larger items, such as multiple lapel pins (4+), pendants, caps, vestments, clergy shirts, briefcases and travel accessories, will be shipped via US Media Mail (for books only) or US Advantage Ground Mail.

Free Shipping Offer

  • The Free Shipping Offer becomes void if any item is returned for a refund or credit. In such cases, the original shipping cost will be deducted from the refund or credit amount.
  • Items exchanged for a different size will be shipped back at no additional cost.
  • The company reserves the right to select the method of shipping.
  • The company is not responsible for uninsured US Postal Shipments; only the shipper’s minimum insurance applies unless further coverage is purchased by the buyer.

International Shipping

  • International shipping is subject to additional charges. Please contact us via email for a quote.
  • All international orders are shipped using US International Priority Mail from our office. Canadian orders are classified as international.
  • The company is not responsible for theft, loss, or breakage during international shipping. The buyer assumes all risks and responsibilities.
  • Credit for damaged items and original shipping costs will be issued after the claim settlement. Items are packaged securely to minimize damage during transit.

Remote Supplier Return Policy

  • Please do not return items directly to us without authorization. Some items are drop shipped and must be returned to the manufacturer or supplier. Contact us for a return authorization number and specific instructions.
  • Unauthorized returns will be refused and sent back to the customer.
  • Customers are responsible for all shipping and handling costs for returns and exchanges. Restocking fees of 10-15% may apply, depending on the supplier’s policy.
  • Items shipped from our stockroom generally do not incur restocking fees unless returned soiled, damaged, or without their original packaging. Cleaning or dry-cleaning fees may be deducted from refunds if items are not returned in original condition.
  • Returned or exchanged items must be unused, neatly folded, and in their original packaging.
  • All personalized, clearance, or custom-made items are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange.

Custom Orders and Embroidered Items

  • All custom vestments and Alb orders are final. These items are made to order and cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Please allow 2-4 weeks for production and delivery during non-peak times, and up to 4-6 weeks during Christmas or ordination seasons.
  • The purchaser is responsible for providing accurate sizing; alterations and reshipping costs are the customer's responsibility.
  • Harbro and RJ Toomey vestments are pre-made for average sizes and may be exchanged only for a different style or color, provided they are returned in original condition and packaging.
  • Beau Veste vestments and apparel are custom embroidered to order and are final sale. Items with personalized embroidery (such as names or deacon crosses) are not returnable, except for size exchanges on select casual apparel items.

Embroidery Policy

  • All personalized embroidery (names, parishes, dioceses, etc.) is final sale. Please verify all spellings and information before placing an order, as the company is not responsible for errors made by the customer.

Gift Returns

  • Contact us for return authorization before sending back any gift items. All returns must include the authorization number, original packaging, all paperwork, and must be in mint condition.
  • Clothing and vestment returns must be made to the manufacturer, not directly to us. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
  • All returns or exchanges must be unworn, unwashed, neatly folded, and in original packaging. The company reserves the right to reject returns that do not meet these criteria.

Damaged Items

  • All items are packed securely, but in the rare case of damage, UPS insurance covers up to $100, and USPS Priority up to $200. Additional insurance is available at the buyer’s request and expense.
  • Damaged items must be reported within one week of arrival. Refunds or insurance claim checks will be issued promptly upon settlement. Retain all original packaging for possible inspection.

Discount Policy

  • Discounts, if available, apply only to original base order items and do not include engraving, embroidery, sales tax, or size-up charges.

 

 

Privacy Policy

The Deacon Store Shopping Cart ensures all orders are processed securely using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, employing 128-bit encryption—the highest level permitted by law. Shipping and Handling

Shipping charges are calculated in real time through the U.S. Postal Service. Some remote vendors may apply a small handling fee. Orders from our stockroom are shipped using US Priority Mail, while remote vendors generally use UPS Ground or FedEx. Certain vendors may exclusively use UPS for drop shipping.

For expedited shipping options like UPS 2-day or 3-day delivery, please contact us. These services provide delivery guarantees under normal conditions and when orders are placed within specified deadlines. Extraordinary circumstances, such as severe weather or equipment failures, may result in delays. If you have questions or concerns about delivery times, please call us. Additional fees apply for expedited services.

New York State Sales Tax Exemptions (Webstore Sales Only)

Most orders shipped outside New York State are not subject to sales tax. As a small business, our webstore is only required to charge and collect New York State sales tax from residents of NYS. However, exemptions apply for churches and other not-for-profit organizations with valid NYS Sales Tax Exemption Certificates on file. If you have such a certificate, sales tax will be removed from your order before payment is processed, or a refund will be issued if payment has already been made.

Note: Sales tax exemptions apply only to the certificate holder. For example, vestments or other items purchased for a deacon or priest must be bought directly by the church or parish, using a church check or credit card. Purchases made privately by individuals, friends, or relatives are not eligible for the parish tax exemption. Exempted items intended for parish use must be purchased through the parish business office.
