Hello: We are Deacon Gil & Mary Nadeau serving in the Diocese of Syracuse, NY. I was ordained in 2006 and found that many of our friends and relatives had difficulty finding ordination gifts for the Deacon Candidates in our class. Having had some success with our first webstore venture, Mary and I decided to offer a few gift items online specifically for Permanent Deacons. Our idea was well received and thus began the DEACON STORE internet store for deacons, their wives, families and friends. Mary and I try very hard to offer the deacon community quality items for use in ministry. We are always looking for new items and ideas to improve this store. Policies & Shipping

Shipping & Handling Policy and Information:
Certain items' shipping costs may include handling fees added by the manufacturer, supplier and/or a drop shipper reflecting their additional costs of packaging, insurance or shipping surcharges incurred with processing an order.

Beau Veste and Abbey orders are drop shipped by UPS Ground or FedEx directly to you.

Expedited service rates are at an extra charge and not included in the 'Free Shipping Offer'.

ITEMS THAT SHIP FROM "OUR STOCKROOM ONLY" are by US First Class (very small items like lapel pins & embroidery patches).  Larger items (Baseball Caps, vestments, clergy shirts, briefcases, travel bags, cinctures, gift sets, multiple items will ship via US Media Mail (books only), US Advantage Ground Shipping or US Priority Mail. 

Please understand that we reserve the right to select the least expensive means of shipping.  

We are not responsible for U.S. Postal Shipments that are not fully insured at the purchaser's request and with extra payment.  Otherwise, the shipper's designated minimum insurance applies.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING IS EXTR(please email us for international shipping quotes) International shipments will ship via U.S. International Priority Mail from our office ONLY.  Canada is considered International.
Please note: We are not responsible for theft, loss or breakage of international shipments.

The buyer is solely responsible and assumes all risks for international shipping.
Credit for a damaged item and initial shipping costs will be promptly issued as soon as the claim is settled. We provide special padded bubble wrapping and many items are well boxed.

The "Free Shipping Offer" is null and void if item(s) are returned for refund.  Our expended shipping and handling charges will be deducted from any refund due to customer.


RETURN POLICY:

Please do not return items directly to us without authorization. Many orders have been drop shipped to you by the maker/suppler/embroider to whom the item(s) must be directly returned.  Call us for an authorization # and/or directions for the return.  Items will be refused and shipped back to you if you do not have an authorization # and/or approval from our office. The customer is totally responsible for shipping and handling costs both ways on all returns and exchanges.  Please understand restocking fees of 10-15% may apply for some returns depending on the maker/supplier's policy. 

Our stockroom shipped items do not have restocking fees unless items are returned to us soiled, damaged or out of their original packaging.  Cleaning or dry-cleaning costs will be deducted from customer refunds if items are returned soiled or severely wrinkled.

Returned or exchanged items must be unused and in original neatly folded condition ONLY.

PLEASE NOTE:  RETURNED ALBS AND OTHER GARMENTS THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY FOLDED AND REPACKED IN THEIR ORIGINAL BAGS WILL INCURE A $10.00 REFOLDING AND REPACKAGING FEE PER ITEM.

***Refunds are processed to your CC account with-in 24 hours of returns being accepted by us or notification from our supplier of receipt of returned goods in good condition.


All CUSTOM VESTMENT & ALB ORDERS are final:  Custom or altered vestment and alb orders are final since they are specially made or altered to order by the manufacturer just for you.  Please allow 2-6 weeks for manufacture and delivery during off-season times and up to 4-6 weeks during Christmas and ordinations times.  The purchaser is solely responsible for providing us with the correct size specifications. Alterations & reshipping costs will be at the purchaser's expense.

Harbro and RJ Toomey vestments are pre-made for the average size person and can be exchanged only for another style or color.  Return in original packaging.  Cannot be exchanged, refunded or returned if washed, soiled or abused in anyway.

Beau Veste Vestments (USA CUSTOM MADE) and apparel are embroidered to orderItems with names embroidered on them are not exchangeable or returnable.   

All VESTMENT ITEMS once embroidered, are final sales. 

Certain other casual apparel items embroidered with a Deacon Cross ONLY maybe exchanged if a different size is needed (ie: a polo or oxford shirt or a jacket). 

 

Jewelry items that have been sized, custom-made orders, or special ordered or altered are not returnable or exchangeable.

 

Embroidery Policy:

All personal embroidered item sales are final. We are not responsible for misinformation or misspelling given to us for embroidery purposes.  Please double check the spelling of names and dates to ensure accuracy.  

Returns: (Call us for return authorization)

All gift items must be returned, as originally folded and packaged with return authorization # in original packaging with all paperwork and in mint condition for refund or exchange. Clothing and vestment returns are made to the manufacturer not directly to us. All return postage/shipping whether to us or the manufacturer is the buyer's responsibility. All clothing and vestments returns or exchanges (all custom made and embroidered items are final sales) must be in the original packaging and as originally folded and pinned. Items that have been washed or worn cannot be returned or exchanged. We reserve the right to reject any exchange or return that does not meet these guidelines.

Damaged items:

(Unusual...since we pack everything so very well with bubble wrap)

Damage will be covered by UPS insurance up to $100 and USPS Priority insurance is $200.00.  Additional insurance must be requested and paid by you.  Damaged items must be reported to us within one week of arrival. We will refund your purchase price up to the insured amount or forward the insurance claim check plus initial shipping. Damaged items must be held by you for possible inspection and return. All original packaging must be retained for inspection. Claim refunds will be issued ASAP when we receive the claim adjustment from the insurance carrier.

Discounts: Our discounts (when available) are calculated on the original base order items only and are not applicable to engraving, embroidery, sales taxes or size-up charges.

 PRIVACY POLICY:

The Deacon Store Shopping Cart processes all orders using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. All information is secured using 128-bit encryption, which is the highest level encryption allowed by law. This is currently the most widely used method for performing secure transactions on the Web. SSL ensures your privacy using secret key encryption. This protocol will encrypt your personal information, guarding it from interception and misuse. Your security and a safe shopping environment are our primary concerns. When we transfer and receive sensitive information such as financial data, we redirect visitors to a secure server. Additionally, we have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site. Finally your Credit Card Numbers are deleted from our files shortly after your order is approved and processed. Your personal information is never shared with anyone else and is kept totally confidential.

Shipping charges are calculated in real time from the U.S. Postal Service.  A small handling charge may be added by certain remote vendor shippers. Orders from our stockroom will be shipped via US Priority Mail.  Remote Vendors will normally ship by UPS Ground or FedEx.  Please note that some of our vendors may drop ship using only UPS services. Call us about Expedited Services such as UPS 2-day & 3-day which have delivery time guarantees offered by the carrier under NORMAL conditions and when purchased within deadline times. (Extraordinary conditions, such as adverse weather, and equipment failure may delay normally guaranteed shipments). Call us if you have questions or concerns about delivery times.  Extra fees apply to expedited services.

New York State Sales Tax Exemptions (webstore sales only):

No sales tax is charged on orders outside New York State (where we are located).  At the present time, since we are a small company,  our webstore is only required to charge and collect NYS Sales Tax from NYS residents ONLY.  Churches and other Not-for-profit organizations who have NYS Sales Tax Exemption Certificates are exempt from New York State Sales Tax.  A copy of the certificate must be on file with us prior to the sale.   Our shopping cart software automatically attaches NYS Sales Tax to all orders placed from NYS.  If you have a valid Exemption Certificate on file with us, we will adjust your order removing the sales tax prior to processing your payment or if payment was processed, we will issue a refund when the Exemption Certificate is filed with us. 

Please Note: Sales Tax Exemptions can only be used by the holder of the certificate.  For example, vestments or other items purchased by or for a deacon or a priest must be purchased directly by the church/parish and paid for with a church check or church credit card.  Private purchases by a deacon, friend or relative cannot take advantage of the parish tax exemption certificate.  It is for parish use only.  Should these items be used at the parish, they must be purchased through the parish business office.
